I am so passionate about birth photography. It's really something everyone should have. It's a one time thing- giving birth to that child, and honestly, most don't remember it. There is a lot of emotion, a lot of stuff happening, and a lot of chemicals releasing in your body. It's such an important moment you should remember the details. You should remember the way your husband sat by your bedside while you waited and made you laugh, you should remember the nurse that held your hand and taught you how to push, you should remember that her eyes were open the first time you saw her, or that he cried while being wrapped up for the first time. These are the moments that really matter and birth photography captures that. Birth photography is not a science-book documentary approach (at least not my birth photography!) It's a story-telling, detail gathering, moment capturing one. Margaret Claire's big sister Olivia was the first birth I ever photographed, so being there for her birth was super special. Her parents are precious and relaxed and a joy to be around, and so is she! She is already so loved and such a blessing to her family and all those who love on her. Loved meeting this sweet family this fall, especially their cute little guy and his red converses! We laughed a lot in our quick session. I really love these sessions because of how cooperative and happy the kiddos are. Littles have short attention spans and I like to work pretty fast because of this- and this just shows how well that can work!

When I met up with Jonathan we quickly realized I had photographed him before! There was a moment in time when I photographed for a yearbook for a local homeschool tutorial and sure enough Jonathan and his siblings attend there! It's been a bit since I've photographed there but it was nice to see a familiar face. One of my favorite things about this session is how well his clothing choices lined up with the barn coloring and how gorgeous the sky was!

Cale choose to make his arrival earlier than any of us expected, but after a little NICU stay we were able to have a sweet in-home newborn session. This little guy is so lucky, he gets to grow up with two adoring big brothers. He stayed awake and peaceful his entire session, never making a peep. Welcome Cale, you are already so loved!

Elenore was one sad baby at her First Birthday photo session, she wanted Mama, Mama and nothing but Mama. It didn't stop her from eating some cake though- just, through tears. Mama and I looked on with giggles at the extreme drama of the situation (she was fine I promise!) Oh sweet beautiful Elenore, I can't wait till you grow up and laugh with us at your adorable little ruffle butt eating icing and wiping snot all over your face.

I am a portrait photographer serving the Wake Forest, NC area
I offer photo sessions for all times and stages in life. I specialize in story-telling with a lifestyle approach. My goal is to follow my clients through numerous stages of their life from weddings and births to children and family portraits and then to high school seniors. I am also available for birthday parties, family reunions, and anything in between. I do most of my sessions on-location at local parks or client’s homes. I have a small studio as well for photographing younger children. My goal is to personalize your session to exactly what you need and to help me do that I offer many different sized sessions from unlimited sessions which allow for outfit and location changes and wonderful candid moments down to quick milestone sessions to capture growing little ones, birthday sessions or even annual holiday card photos. I design my packages with myself in mind, and what I would want out of a session, because of that, almost always the high-resolution images are included as well as an online gallery for sharing with friends and family. I also offer high-quality professional prints at a low rate.
I love every second of what I do, the main thing you should know about me and my photography is that we are the same in a lot of ways: colorful, vibrant, full of life, sometimes spontaneous, and passionate about memories. Everything in my business is modeled after what I have learned from being a photographer for more than 10 years and from being a consumer of photography- as a student, as a bride, and now a mother. I want to capture the feeling of a moment in time, even if that just means capturing the Christmas card photo where everyone looks like themselves and happy. It means that if your kid doesn’t want to sit still and smile I will chase them around and bribe them with candy till we get what we are after, kids are kids after all! I am playful and energetic but also, I am emotional and deeply connected to the feelings of a moment, I look for details to capture that tell a story, whether it is a birth or a wedding or a family reunion, telling the story of an event is in the details. In the end, what is most important to me is that you get what you are after out of your session, so let’s chat, make a plan, and make it happen!
